My first children’s room was designed for an 8 year old boy. His parents were recently divorced, and his dad wanted his bedroom designed around whatever theme or hobby his son enjoyed so that when he visited on special holidays and weekends, he would have a fun room that he helped to create! After a lengthy interview with both father and son, the decorator began this room’s transformation. Would you like to guess what theme the son wanted to incorporate into his new room? It won’t be hard to answer this question when you see the room’s makeover!
Sports – baseball and football were his request…and the design of this room certainly highlights both of these activities. A fun pendant valance over the window adds a touch of whimsy to the room, and the red and blue color scheme is certainly appropriate. Another think I like about this room is that it will definitely grow with this child. And notice the small wicker baskets placed on the shelves on either side of the window. A great way to avoid clutter in a room and allow him to store his special things! Let’s take a look at the opposite wall of this room where the Father requested a special mural be painted, making this room even more unique!
Isn’t this great! What a wonderful way to continue this room’s theme – all around the room – and add some unique personality to the room’s overall theme…and let’s move into this boy’s special bathroom – so you can see how the room’s overall theme continued
And here is Jake’s bathroom – complete with a custom valance over his bathtub announcing his hane! What a fabulous room transformation for this lucky little boy!
